Lasata Care Center is a skilled nursing facility operated by Ozaukee County, located at W76 N677 Wauwatosa Road, in Cedarburg. In 2008, Ozaukee Master Gardeners established two perennial beds and built a gazebo. The gardens are appreciated by the residents of Lasata Care Center and their families who enjoy visiting in the lovely garden areas.

The beds have been expanded to include a Hosta bed, a butterfly garden, a zinnia/rose garden, a strawberry bed, vegetable and herb gardens and three small gardens along a walking path. Volunteers are needed to keep these gardens up by doing the watering, weeding, deadheading, replacing plants, thinning out and moving plants, clean up in spring and putting the gardens to bed in fall.

Lasata also has a green house that is utilized by the residents for spring planting, taking cuttings of plants and many other activities, especially in the winter. In spring, summer and fall volunteers can choose an area of the gardens and focus on maintaining that area. They can also volunteer to assist residents with projects in the green house, with Garden Club and other resident activities.
