Washington County Community Garden

Chair: Mary Reilly-Kliss

The Washington County Community Garden, a core project of the Ozaukee County Master Gardeners is located at the corner of Water and  Indiana Streets, West Bend, WI., one block south of the intersection of Hwy 33 (Washington Street) and Indiana Avenue.  We have been in existence since 2007 teaching gardeners to grow their own produce, donating to the local food pantry, and providing gardening opportunities to juveniles and adults in various support programs.

Individuals at the Washington County Community Garden rent 15X20 plots for $25.00 for the gardening season. The 78 plots are not “organic” site per se, but are as natural as we can be given the varied backgrounds of our gardeners. Frequent emails with educational information and growing tips are sent to the gardeners on a regular basis. Gardeners are given a list of approved pesticides at the registration session.  When the growing season is in full swing we welcome you to come to the gardens. Teach a skill, pull some weeds, help out a newbie! Contact Mary Reilly-Kliss if you are able to help or send an email to communitygarden@co.ozaukee.wi.us.
