“Tylon’s scholarship application stood out from all others,” said Marion Kanack, chair OzMG scholarship committee. “Truly Tylon embodies our mission of engaging and educating the community through his ongoing work at Teens Grow Greens.” As an intern in the Teens Grow Greens program, he enjoyed working on meaningful projects and actually being part of the change. He continues to dedicate his time to learning about environmental sciences, fungi, and other interesting things that affect our planet. His friends are, “Mud, Microbes, Fungi, and Plants,” he says. In addition, Jones actively helps to “develop teens through transformative experiences that cultivate belonging, life skills, and connections to opportunities that grow leadership” at Teens Grow Greens located in Milwaukee.

The main mission of OzMGs is to educate. The Association provides learning opportunities for its members and the general public through garden projects, a speaker’s series, workshops, and community outreach. Most of its funds are raised at the annual plant sale which in 2025 will be held on Saturday, May 17 at the Ozaukee County Fairgrounds.
